There aren’t many corporate presenters now-a-days that don’t use any form of visual aids during a presentation. A powerful presentation can be even better with visual aids in comparison to a presentation without visual aids.

How we absorb information

Professor Albert Mehrabian is famous for researching how we absorb information. He created this formula:

• 7% of meaning is in the words that are spoken
• 38% of meaning is in the way that the words are said
• 55% of meaning is in facial expression and body language

The importance of the above research is what your audience is seeing at the time something is being said is of primary importance to understanding what is being said. So if we could control what our audience is seeing and hearing we should be much better equipped to deliver our message successfully and be understood and remembered.
